Will we be lighting and releasing water lanterns at the festival?
Yes, all hand-decorated water lanterns will be released onto our beautiful E.B. Rains lake.
Is the Water Lantern Festival for children?
Definitely! People of all ages will enjoy our beautiful Water Lantern Festival and we are a family-friendly event. All participants agree to the terms on the waiver by participating and entering the festival grounds.
Is this an indoor or outdoor event?
This is an outdoor event that takes place at a park.
What time do the lanterns launch?
The lantern launch will begin at sunset and will continue for 1-2 hours until everyone has had an opportunity to launch their lantern into the water.
Can I buy tickets at the event?
Yes, tickets are available online at discounted prices, but will also be sold at the box office near the main entrance.
Do I need to print my tickets if purchased online?
We recommend that you print your online tickets. While we can scan your e-tickets through your cell phone at the event, some cell phones might have connectivity issues on site.
What time do I need to arrive? What are the hours for the event?
Doors open at 4 pm and the event ends at 10 pm. You should arrive between 4 PM and 6 PM to enjoy the activities previous to the launch. Please check the official Water Lantern Festival Event Guide that is e-mailed to all participants a week prior to the event.
Is there parking for the event?
Yes, free parking spaces are limited near the park and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is additional free parking within walking distance. Please refer to the parking map that will be emailed to you a week before the event.
What does my ticket admission include?
All tickets include items specified on each category (see ticket descriptions), as well as admission and entertainment. Other specific attractions, goods, food, and beverage are available for purchase from vendors.

What are your ticket and admission policies?
The box office closes 45 min before lantern launch begins.
Can I bring outside food/drink into the water lantern festival?
Yes, feel free to bring your own food or snacks. We will also have food/beverage vendors and food trucks for you to enjoy some great food for purchase.
Can I bring my own lantern?
We do not allow any outside lanterns as we cannot guarantee or be responsible for cleaning them up. We will have additional lanterns available for purchase on-site in case you need additional lanterns.
What items are not allowed into the festival?
Please do not bring the following onto the grounds: illegal drugs/controlled substances, alcohol, weapons or objects that could be used as weapons.
If I cannot attend, can I get a refund for my tickets?
Tickets are not refundable unless you purchase a refundable ticket (see ticket categories/descriptions). In the case of a weather postponement, or cancellation, please see our inclement weather policy.

Can I re-enter the festival on the same day if I must leave?
Yes. Make sure to get a hand-stamp at the entrance should you return later that day.
Can I take photographs at the water lantern festival?
Absolutely, take as many photos as you like.
How accessible is the Water Lantern Festival for guests with disabilities?
Unfortunately, we do not have wheelchairs for our guests. Most of our lantern exhibits are surrounded by water, grass, gravel or blacktop surfaces, you are more than welcome to bring standard wheelchairs or handicap scooters for guests in need of assistance, but we cannot guarantee that the entire event will be accessible. Disabled parking is available and limited.
Are animals allowed at the event?
We love our pets! However, pets shall remain leashed and in your control at all times. We ask that you’re courteous to our guests and workers and to please clean up after your pet.
What if there is bad weather?
We'll do our best to proceed with the event as scheduled, but if severe weather prohibits us from launching the lanterns on the water then we'll work with local officials to determine what the options are for rescheduling the event within 120 days. Please see our inclement weather policy.
Can I become a volunteer?
Definitely! Each volunteer will receive a shirt, a lantern to launch at the event, marker, and wristband for helping us out. Please go to the contact page and send us all your info and why you want to become a volunteer. Once you're signed up, we’ll get back to you and send you an email with more information.
What happens with the lanterns after the event?
All lanterns will be cleaned up and our staff will ensure that every lantern gather will be disposed of properly according to our recycle and environmental commitment.
Will automatic tellers be available at the festival?
There will be no ATMs on the grounds.
